Robert C. Williams Insurance Agency, Inc. was founded in 1960, by Robert C. Williams, Sr., as an independent insurance agency. From its inception, until today, the Company has operated as an independent agency providing a full menu of insurance products, offered through a large number of insurance companies. With an emphasis on commercial insurance, the agency has special expertise in workers' compensation, and professional liability for a variety of businesses.

Today, the principals are the children of Mr. Williams, who retired from the day-to-day operations of the business in 1997. Rick Williams joined the firm in 1981, after graduation from King's College. Barbara Williams joined the firm in 1990, after 9 years with the life insurance division of CIGNA Corporation.

The Company has expanded its marketing area to within a 200 mile radius of its Wilkes-Barre offices. While continuing to offer insurance to all types of business, the agency has developed an expertise in the fast food industry, long term care, home health and day care industries, and has formed alternative risk management programs for the workers' compensation needs of large employers.
